Appointed professor of History of Art in the Arts School and Fench language and literature in the Central School of Languages.
1910–1911 Arturo Barea
Works as a shop assistant.
1911 Pedro Salinas
Begins to publish his poems in journals such as Prometeo, España, and later in La Pluma and Los Lunes del Imparcial.
1918 Ramón J. Sender
Begins university studies in Philosophy and Letters, which he never completes. Becomes involved in anarchist worker groups.
1934–1936 Arturo Serrano Plaja
His poems are published in Octubre, Frente Literario and Caballo Verde para la Poesía.
1935 Tomás Segovia
Starts primary school at the Lycée Français in Madrid.
1936–1939 José Gaos
Is appointed director of the University of Madrid.
Jul 1936 Ramón J. Sender
Joins the Republican Army.
1960 Alejandro Casona
Second stay in Spain for a few days in the middle of a journey to Europe.
