The impresario Julián Santacruz saw her perform at a party in homage to Galicia in the Teatro Nacional compelled her to dance a muñeira at the Cuban premiere of the zarzuela Amores de la aldea by Luna and Soutullo. Lecuona discovered her shortly after and hired for the lead roles in some of his zarzuelas
1930 Premiered Guerrero's Martierra in Cuba and toured the country with his company, incorporating operetta into her repertory
1956 Awarded the Gran Premio Gonzalo Roig for her career merits
